Lakefront Trail Run Scheduled for Tuesday, July 21st

LAKEFRONT TRAIL RUN

On Tuesday, July 21st, we will head downtown into Chicago and run on the Lakefront Trail right along Lake Michigan! We'll take the train down from Westmont to Union Station, walk to the Lakefront Trail, and run for about 40-45 minutes. Then, we'll go to the French Market for a late breakfast (or early lunch, however you want to choose). After that, we'll head back to Union Station and return to Westmont. We should be home by 1:15 pm.

Here are the details of how this will work:

Anyone who is planning on going downtown on Tuesday, June 21, must let Coach Dunne know no later than Monday, June 20 so we have a rough estimate of how many runners are going.

• We will NOT be meeting at Ty Warner at 7:00 am. Instead, we will be meeting at the Westmont train station, on the south side of the tracks, at 8:00 AM.
• Each athlete is asked to bring $5 with them to give to Coach Dunne, who will then buy 10-ride tickets at the Westmont station and will be able to cover the cost (and save the hassle of dealing with conductors on the train!) of the trip down and back.
• We will be going to the French Market after our run before we return to Westmont. We recommend that each athlete brings about $10 for food at the French Market. There is a large variety of food offered at the French Market, so there will be something for everyone and every appetite.

8:20 AM Depart Westmont Station
8:51 AM Arrive Chicago Union Station
8:55 AM Arrive Jackson Drive, walk to Lakefront Trail

9:20 AM Arrive Lakefront Trail
9:25 AM Run Lakefront Trail
10:10 AM (roughly) Stretch at designated meeting point
10:25 AM Finish stretching
10:30 AM Depart Lakefront Trail, walk to French Market on Canal Street

10:55 AM Arrive French Market
11:00-12:00 Late breakfast/early lunch at French Market
12:00 PM Depart French Market

12:15 PM Arrive Union Station
12:30 PM Depart Union Station
1:11 PM Arrive Westmont Station
