Online Registration and Other Odds & Ends

Hello Parents and Athletes:

We've had a great couple of first days of practice, and we're very excited for the 2014 season!

Last night, we had our parent meeting and they emphasized that online registration is mandatory this year. Other than the physical, the athletic office is accepting no other paperwork. Everything else must be done online. Every athlete participating in a sport this year is required to register online through Westmont High School's athletics website. While we're very glad that many of our athletes promptly turned in paper copies in the first couple of days of practice, again, the Athletic Office is accepting no paperwork EXCEPT for the physical, as that is required by law to have a paper copy on file in the school.

If your athlete is a sophomore, junior, or senior and still needs a physical, they can go to a Walgreens or other similar venue and get a sports physical for between $30 and $50. This will satisfy the requirement for participation. Freshmen must have a complete physical turned in before they begin high school.

All other paperwork however, must be done electronically through the Athletic Website. We ask you to get this done as soon as possible so that your athlete can continue to participate.

To register online, please go to the High School's Athletic Website (click on that link) and hit where it says "Registration".

Most likely, you'll have to create a new account. Remember your password as you will be re-using this account for future school years as well as for any younger children when they reach high school.

How will you know that you have completed the registration online? Your athlete will appear on the roster for either Boys or Girls Cross Country on the Athletic website. In fact, here's the Boys Roster, and the Girls Roster on the Athletics website currently.

Also at our parent meeting last night, we handed out an information sheet that is for our team only. Athletes and parents will both need to fill this out. If you were unable to attend last night's parent meeting, if your athlete was at practice today, we sent home this information sheet with them. Please fill out this information sheet as soon as possible and have your athlete return it to Coach Dunne.

Finally, just a few quick reminders:

  • There is no afternoon practice for varsity runners tomorrow (Saturday 8/16). All runners will meet at 8:00 am.
  • All runners should get out on Sunday and run between 3 and 5 miles on their own and should record their run in the Training Log with their account.
  • Practice for all runners next week will switch to 3:00 pm due to the start of the school year on Wednesday, August 20. We will post the practice schedule for next week in a separate post as it is a goofy week of practice with the school starting. As always, athletes and parents can check the Workouts page for our daily workout plans as well as times that practice are at.
  • Team pictures will be on Wednesday, August 20, at 3:10 pm. We will hand out uniforms before then. We will hold practice immediately after team pictures.

Our first meet is on September 2 at home! It will be here before you know it!
